Understanding Your EPF
Before diving into checking your balance, let’s understand some key terms:
- Universal Account Number (UAN): A unique 12-digit number assigned to each employee for managing their EPF account across different jobs.
- Member Passbook: An online record that shows your PF contributions, interest earned, and current balance.
- Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO): The government body that manages the EPF scheme.
Methods for Checking Your PF Balance
There are several ways to check your EPF balance, each offering varying levels of convenience and information detail.
Check PF Balance With UAN Number
The Member Passbook is the most comprehensive way to view your EPF details. Here’s how to access it:

- Visit the Member Passbook Portal: Go to https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/login.
- Login: Enter your UAN, password, and captcha code.
- View Passbook: You’ll see a detailed breakdown of your EPF contributions from both your current and past employers, interest earned, and your current balance.
Ways to Check PF Balance Without the UAN Number
