Founded in 1968, DBS Bank, originally known as The Development Bank of Singapore, was established by Singapore government to promote economic activity in the country. Within a few years, DBS has evolved to become a leading multinational financial services group with presence in over 18 countries across Asia. DBS began its Indian operations in 1984 at Mumbai, initially as a representative office. Since then, it became the first foreign bank to receive a wholly-subsidiary license in India in 2019.
