The last date for Aadhar Card which has been issued over 10 years and not updated since, will need to be updated by Sept 14, 2024. In order to revalidate your Aadhar Card, you would need to submit your ID proof and Address Proof to ensure the details already existing are correct.

The UIDAI has set a mandate that all Aadhar details remain accurate and up-to-date. After Sept 14, those who update their Aadhar details need to pay a ₹ 50 fine for any updates made later. Aadhar authentication involves submitting and verifying your Aadhar details to UIDAI’s Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR). UIDAI will then verify the information with the one in their records.

Step by Step Process to Update Aadhar Card Online

  1. Go to myaadhar.uidai.gov.in and login using your Aadhar Card and Mobile OTP
  2. Click on Aadhar Update option
  3. Review the identity and address shown in the profile
  4. If all the information is correct, click on the option “I Verify that the above details are correct”
  5. Upload the documents you wish to submit for verification.
  6. Make sure they are in recommended sizes(jpeg, png, pdf)
  7. Track the status using the Service Request Number

Currently, you can do Aadhar updation at No cost. However, you will have to pay a penalty of Rs. 50  if you miss the deadline of Sept 14 and do after that. So, it is wise to do so within Sept 14 to avoid penalty.
